10XCREW is growing! And so is our team. That’s why it’s the perfect time to start introducing our crew. Meet our Head of Advertising Tim Wijne and find out why he is so enthusiastic about working at 10XCREW.
Introducing
“My name is Tim Wijne, I am 31 years old and I live in Eindhoven. I joined 10XCREW in April as Head of Advertising. Before that, I worked at ING as an Online Media Manager for two years and at digital agency Greenhouse in various campaign and data roles for six years. During my time at ING I learned a lot, but I discovered that I prefer the dynamics of a smaller agency over corporate life. When I walked into 10XCREW’s office I immediately noticed the enthusiasm and energy behind this company, which is very contagious. 10XCREW was exactly what I was looking for: an extremely ambitious and driven scale-up where a lot is possible. I can now apply the knowledge I gained from my previous employers to the new world of marketplaces, which I very much enjoy exploring.”
What is your role within 10XCREW?
“My role as Head of Advertising is twofold. On the one hand, I train and coach my team members to become Advertising experts and how to work together with the other teams and clients. The company is growing fast, so I want to make sure we lay down a solid foundation of expertise that we can build upon. We are regularly hiring new team members so this is a big part of my work. On the other hand, I have a strategic role. That means that I help set up the roadmap for our clients, decide which traffic channels and tooling we should focus on next and keep a close eye on opportunities/trends that we want to capitalise on. The ambition of 10XCREW is great, so we have a ton of ideas and plans on how to improve even more. Unfortunately we cannot do everything at once, so it’s important to set the right priorities.”
What does a working day look like for you?
“I always start the day by updating my inbox and checking the open tasks in Asana, our project management tool. Then I go into PowerBI, our dashboarding tool, to see the latest status of our clients. This tool helps us to prioritise the tasks of the day and of the week. At 9:30 in the morning, we have a stand-up with the team where we discuss the tasks of the day with each other and have room to ask for help if, for example, someone is short of time or is having trouble figuring out the best approach for a problem. The rest of my day varies a lot. Among other things, I optimize my client’s campaigns, have 1-on-1 coaching talks with my team members, test new advertising opportunities, have client meetings, and evaluate our campaign automation tooling to see if it’s still the best fit for us. ”
What do you like most about working at 10XCREW?
“I really like the atmosphere and the mindset here at the office. Not only is the management’s objective ambitious, but everyone in the company goes for it 100%. We all want to help each other to reach our full potential. I think it’s cool to help build this company and to see it grow. 10XCREW is a perfect fit. When I talk with the management team about what the future holds, I get very inspired and I can run on that energy all day long. It’s exciting that we are building towards such cool things.”
What is something that not many people know about you?
“I have had a radio program on the local radio station in Eindhoven for 5 years. During my studies, I became interested in making radio shows. During a radio course at the Media Park in Hilversum I met someone who wanted to start doing a sports program and invited me to join. To be very honest, I do not have much affinity with sports myself, but I just really enjoyed making radio.”
