10XCREW is growing! And so is our team. That’s why it’s the perfect time to introduce our crew. Meet Tim Wijne, our Head of Advertising, and find out why he is so enthusiastic about working at 10XCREW.
Introducing Tim
My name is Tim Wijne, I am 34 years old, and I live in Eindhoven. I joined 10XCREW in April as Head of Advertising. Before that, I worked at ING as an Online Media Manager for two years and at digital agency Greenhouse in various campaign and data roles for six years.
During my time at ING, I learned a lot, but I discovered that I prefer the dynamics of a smaller agency over corporate life. When I first walked into 10XCREW’s office, I immediately noticed the enthusiasm and energy behind the company, which was contagious. 10XCREW was exactly what I was looking for—an ambitious and driven scale-up where opportunities are endless. I can now apply the knowledge I gained from my previous roles to the fast-evolving world of marketplaces, which I find fascinating to explore.
What is your role within 10XCREW?
My role as Head of Advertising is twofold. On one hand, I train and coach my team members to become advertising experts and help them collaborate effectively with other teams and clients. Since the company is growing rapidly, I focus on laying a strong foundation of expertise that we can continue to build upon. With new team members joining regularly, hiring and onboarding are key aspects of my role.
On the other hand, I have a strategic responsibility. I help shape the roadmap for our clients, decide which traffic channels and tools to focus on next, and stay on top of trends and opportunities we can capitalize on. The ambition at 10XCREW is high, and we have countless ideas to improve even further. Since we can’t do everything at once, setting the right priorities is crucial.
What does a working day look like for you?
I start my day by checking my inbox and reviewing open tasks in Asana, our project management tool. Then, I look at PowerBI, our dashboarding tool, to assess the latest status of our clients. This helps us prioritize tasks for the day and the week. At 9:30 AM, we have a team stand-up where we discuss our tasks, share challenges, and offer help to those who need it. The rest of my day is varied—I optimize campaigns for my clients, have one-on-one coaching sessions with team members, test new advertising opportunities, meet with clients, and evaluate our campaign automation tools to ensure they are still the best fit for us.
What do you like most about working at 10XCREW?
I love the atmosphere and mindset at 10XCREW. It’s not just the company’s vision that is ambitious—everyone here is fully committed to achieving it. There’s a real sense of teamwork, where we all push each other to reach our full potential.
It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of building this company and watching it grow. When I discuss future plans with the management team, I feel truly inspired, and that energy fuels me throughout the day. Knowing we are working toward something big makes it all the more exciting.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I hosted a radio show on a local Eindhoven station for five years. While studying, I developed an interest in making radio shows. During a radio course at the Media Park in Hilversum, I met someone who wanted to launch a sports program and invited me to join. Ironically, I don’t have much affinity with sports, but I enjoyed the creative process of making radio.
